French Curriculum Design

Allowing pupils to possess the vocabulary, oral and written skills to prepare them for their secondary education. 

  • We follow the National Curriculum and teach French to Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6.

  • Topic based learning links are made where possible

  • Whole School focus on discrete sessions alongside topic themes.

  • Engaging opportunities including competitions and family projects

  • We map skills for each year group so that learning progresses

Our French curriculum is deliberate and focuses on repetition to embed skills and topic links to add a deeper understanding and enhance motivation.

We want our children to head into secondary will the confidence to be able to read and write in French as well as hold French conversations.
