Home learning ideas to support Year 3:
Spellings:
Each week, your child will be tested on a set of spellings which link to a rule or pattern. Spelling tests will take place on a Monday and the new list for the week ahead will also be shared.
We please ask that families set aside blocks of 10-15 minutes at least three times a week for children to practise their given rule.

- Reading at least 3 times a week
- TT Rockstars https://ttrockstars.com/ and Numbots https://numbots.com/ are fantastic resources to support Maths practice. Miss Berry has given the children their login details to bring home so they can access these.
- Hit the Button is a game on the Top Marks website that is particularly useful for learning unfamiliar times tables. Children could even have a try learning the times tables they will learn in Y4! https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button
- SpellingShed https://www.spellingshed.com/en-gb/ is a resource we use in school which is super! Miss Berry has given the children their login details to bring home so they can access the games at home. If you click on the ‘Assignments’ tab when you log in, the children will be able to play spelling games with the spellings they have been assigned that week.
- Any cursive handwriting practice at home would be fantastic! Something similar to the attachments on this website https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/english/primary-handwriting/ would be incredibly useful as it includes words to practice. If your child needs any paper to practise on at home, please let us know

OPTIONAL Homework Activities:
Each half term, we will give the children some fun OPTIONAL Homework activities to complete, if they’d like to. Any entries will be proudly hung on our PROUD wall in the school hall and shared in Friday’s celebration assembly.
