Mrs Oswald trained and qualified with BA HON Primary Education with QTS from the University of Brighton in 2002. She went on to be employed as an Advanced Skills Teacher for Teaching and Learning with North Yorkshire County Council before becoming a Deputy Headteacher and Acting Headteacher in Redcar and Cleveland. In 2013, Mrs Oswald was awarded NPQH.
Mrs Oswald is a member of the Governor Committees and is responsible for providing the Governors with information on teaching, learning and progress as well as the practicalities of the strategic leadership of the school.
Pupil Premium Link Governor, Acting Chair of Governors
Isobel has been a Parent Governor for a Federation of 3 small primary schools in the Yorkshire Wolds for several years now. Isobel has worked for the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust as a Neighbourhood Services Officer for over 20 years, much of that time being based in New Earswick.
Safeguarding and Prevent Governor
Kaeli is a regular visitor to the school. She works with the Headteacher on safeguarding matters and on the delivery of safeguarding training for staff in key areas such as Prevent.
She has been an employee of York Theatre Royal in the role of Visitor Services Manager for 18 years where she leads and supports the customer facing departments. She has been directly responsible for planning and execution of large-scale collaborative and community projects such as the 2012 York Mystery Plays, the Shakespeare Festival, and ‘The Railway Children’. She looks forward to contributing her ideas and enthusiasm for learning through the arts to New Earswick Primary School.
Stewart works in Finance at the British Library and has been a governor for over ten years. He is linked to the current Reception class.
Colin has worked on local authority school building projects for some time and was part of the team involved in the rebuilding of the local secondary school. He is linked to the Y1 class and is the Health and Safety Link Governor; Pupils with Medical Needs Link Governor as well as the SEN Link Governor.
